Turbo-Guard® Billet Installation Instructions

🔧 Installation Instructions

  1. Inspect Components

    • Unbox the billet inlet screen and verify you have:

      • The main inlet screen housing

      • Two (2) set screws

      • A small tube of removable thread locker (Loctite blue or equivalent)

  2. Position the Inlet Screen

    • Ensure the engine is off and cool to touch before attempting installation.

Fit the screen into place on your vehicle’s turbo inlet. Make sure it seats evenly and sits flush against the surface.

  3. Apply Thread Locker

    • Take the removable thread locker and apply one small drop onto the thread of each set screw.

    • This prevents the screws from loosening but allows future removal if needed.

  4. Insert Set Screws

    • Thread each set screw into its respective hole.

    • Use the 1/8″ Allen bit on a driver or wrench to snug them down evenly so the unit is centered on the inlet.

  5. Tighten Carefully—It’s Aluminum

    • Important: Do not over-tighten!

    • Tighten each screw just until it feels snug and secure—about quarter-turn past

    • Over-tightening can strip threads or crack the aluminum housing. (This is not covered under warranty)

  6. Final Inspection

    • Ensure the screen is firmly seated and does not move.

    • The set screws should hold it securely in place without any visible deformation or damage.

  7. Re-Check After First Use

    • After initial operation (e.g., a short drive or test run), re-inspect and gently re-tighten set screws if necessary.

Why This Matters

  • The drop of removable thread locker keeps the screws secure under vibration and heat, yet allows disassembly later.

  • Aluminum components can strip or crack under excessive torque—so just snug is right.
